Parents:
For penmanship practice choose 10 words in which to practice handwriting and/or cursive. Have your child write each word 10 times each.
For spelling, quiz your child first to find out which words they need to work on. Consider stopping the quiz when they have reached 10 wrong and let those be the words to study for the following week. Going over 10 wrong might discourage the child and make both your workload and theirs grievous. Keep learning fun and interesting rather than discouraging and overwhelming.
For vocabulary choose 5 new words from below. Have your child find the definition in a dictionary and write the definitions down clearly. Younger children may need help finding the words in the dictionary. A short paragraph should be sufficient. The point is to learn what the word means so as to increase their comprehension and vocabulary.
