Narcissa Prentiss/Whitman became one of the first of two women to cross the Oregon Trail in a wagon and on foot. She survived disease, heartbreak, attacks, and dangerous mountainous roads to reach the land of Oregon and help her husband build a mission. She died in Oregon Territory (now Washington D.C.) a hero and Godly woman.
